The design of water rescue furniture has been a hot topic in the design field. In this paper, we apply UCD design thinking and methodology to research on water escape equipment for home use, aiming to provide more efficient, simple and practical life-saving furniture for daily life and emergency disaster situations, so as to reduce the loss of property. This paper firstly analyzes the current development situation of water rescue furniture, and puts forward the problems of single explicit interaction and ignoring users’ needs in this field. Then, through the analysis of user characteristics and user scenarios, a user demand assessment model is established to provide guidance for the design of wearable life-saving furniture. Finally, the design architecture of wearable life-saving furniture is proposed from the perspectives of function, appearance and usage.
